Issues with FR & our Forum

Hello-
Our forum uses FR and we are currently experiencing the following problems:
1. Users are able to see posts without being "logged in" to the forum. We don't want this, how do we fix that?
2. We "disabled" the FR plugin from our site and it still worked. Why?
3. We "Uninstalled" the FR plugin from our site and it still works. Why didn't this "shut down" FR?
4. How do we Shut Down FR if we want to if the above doesn't work?
5. Now that the plugin is uninstalled, is there anything we need to do? It doesn't show up in our Admin panel any longer.

Can someone please direct me to how we can work through these issues?

Disabling the plug-in doesn't do anything. To uninstall you need to follow the uninstallation instructions for your forum type in the Forum Manager.

Basically, depending on your installation you need to remove the 'forumrunner' directory and delete your listing from the Forum Manager.
