Default No push notifications on my forum - 05-15-2012, 07:41 PM

Can't work this one out. I have both my own forum and vBulletin.com as favourites in Forum Runner on iPhone.

If I get a PM on vBulletin.com, I get a push notification. My own site, if I get a PM, I do not get a push notification.

If I go to the app and there is a new PM, the home screen puts the little red notifier on the forum's icon, so it is "pulling" ok but not pushing.

It must be something wrong on my forum, such as a setting or something, since it works ok on vbulletin.com.

Cron appears to be running though as the phrase is missing it doesn't log. But even so I have run it manually and still nothing comes through.

Plenty of activity on the site so the cron is being triggered.

I am stumped now.

Can you please send me the contents of your forumrunner/sitekey.php file in a PM?

The easiest way to know if things are working is to send a PM to yourself from the mobile app, then force the cron job in the admincp. You should get the push within 60 seconds.

Thanks Rob;

Looking at the package that vB give you, there is actually NO sitekey.php file, only a vb_sitekey.php file.

I have downloaded just the sitekey file from here and uploaded that. The mykey value is different to what is in vb_sitekey.php. This seems to have fixed the issue.

Is this a flaw in the vBulletin download package?

Possibly what were your exact installation instructions?

Did you ever have the forum runner package installed on your forum independently of vBulletin? Or did you just download it from vBulletin.com as an integrated package?

Hi Rob

I did not have Forum Runner previously

The package came with the 4.1.12 download and I uploaded it exactly as it was. There is an option within the vBulletin Members Area to create a Forum Runner account if you don't already have one, which is what I did. It creates it without the user actually having to visit the Forum Runner site, but the login then works over here.
