Question Testing on a development server - 06-07-2011, 01:49 PM

I am setting up ForumRunner for a customer, but we wanted to try it out on a development server first. Can we do that we their account, or can a set up a developer's account which I use on the developer server for testing and afterwards disable/delete?

We are using vBulletin 4.1, and the development server is on a *nix box and is protected by basic HTTP-AUTH. Can we work around the password for testing?

Found this post,
http://www.forumrunner.net/forum/sho...hlight=testing
which seems related to my 2nd question above, but I'm still not sure about the HTTP-Authentication issue.
Does anyone know if there is still a "Publish Private Forum" object after you Verify? (I am not going to even Verify yet until I am sure.)

There is a private forum option, but you will not be able to use forum runner through a HTTP-AUTH protected URL. You will need to disable this while you test.

After you verify you can publish privately so you will need to search for the forum in the forum browser.

After that, you can delete the listing and add the production one and verify/publish it publically.
